The first three episodes of the series premiered on April 26th, 2017. The following seven episodes were released every Wednesday on Hulu. In July 2019, the series was renewed for season four which then premiered on April 27th, 2021. In December 2020, it was announced that the series will be renewed for a fifth season even when season four had not even aired yet. The Handmaid’s Tale‘s first season won eight Primetime Emmy Awards out of 13 nominations. These including Outstanding Drama Series. It is the first show produced by Hulu to win a major award, as well as the first series on a streaming service to win an Emmy for Outstanding Series and it, also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. Before she and the Handmaids plan to leave the farm for the next safe house and meanwhile in Toronto, Moira deals with the fallout of June’s choices. Serena and Fred are also bound together by a miracle. The third episode shows that how June is captured by Gilead, and faces a vengeful Aunt Lydia, and also endures a torturous interrogation. Nick and Lawrence then collaborate to protect June. Later in Toronto, Luke struggles with how to help June and Hannah. The renewal of season four was on July 26th, 2019. Season 4, consisting of 10 episodes and started production in March 2020. At that time, Elisabeth Moss was filming her directorial debut, but work had to be halted after only a few weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And the season then ended its production in 2021 and was finally released on the 27th of April 2021.
