Pokemon Go February Events
With February here, Pokemon Go developer Niantic has outlined all of the events it has lined up for its mobile hit game. Recently, it was revealed that in the month of February, a new Gen 5 Pokemon would debut, alongside a new Legendary, and more. The Devs will roll out another new Special Research questline revolving around Team Rocket. Just like the last Special Research quests, players will have to culminate in a battle with Giovanni, and when the players defeat him, they’ll earn a chance to capture a new Shadow Legendary Pokemon: Shadow Raikou. The devs are also offering new Field Research tasks alongside a new Research Breakthrough reward. Each time the player achieves Research Breakthrough this month, with this, the players will earn a chance to catch the new Gen 5 Pokemon Woobat. Also, a Gen 5 Legendary Tornadus will be a Raid Battles starting from 4 February. From 7-10 February, the developers are holding a Sinnoh celebration event. During the time, Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region will appear more often in the wild. The 7 km eggs, then the players will obtain exclusively hatch into particular Sinnoh Pokemon, such as Budew, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantyke. The players will have the chance to encounter Shiny versions of Riolu and Hippopotas during the event. There is also a Field Research task that may reward you with Sinnoh Stones. Pokemon Go’s annual Valentine’s Day event will return. It will be running from 14-17 February, during which pink-colored Pokemon will appear much more often in the wild and Raids. Audino and Alomomola, the 5 Gen Pokemon, will make their debut during Valentine’s event, and players will have a chance to hatch a Shiny Happiny. Furthermore, encounter a Shiny Chansey in the wild. There is also a special raid during the Valentine event, which is on 15 February that will be featuring Lickitung. Afterward, from 21 to 24 February, there will be a friendship weekend; during that time, friendship levels will increase quickly, and the player will earn twice the normal amount of Candy for trading. Furthermore, Trades will cost half as much as Stardust to perform, and the players can open these gifts each day, and it will be increased to 40. Lastly, Niantic will be holding two new kinds of events in February. The first one will be Pokemon Spotlight Hour, which will take place on 4 February. 6-7 PM local time is when a surprise Pokemon will appear in the wild than usual. Then, on 6 February, the other event will be a Mystery Bonus Hour event, which will offer a surprise bonus from 6-7 PM local time.
